A casino review site for the Canada that’s actually legal

Most “best online casino” lists for Canada are padded with offshore brands that can’t legally market here. We do the opposite: we only cover sites a Canadian can use under a real licence, and we score them on evidence you can check.

What we cover, and what we leave out

The line is simple: a casino has to be licensed to take Canadian players legally to appear here. In practice that means the operators registered with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and iGaming Ontario, and, from July 13, 2026, the operators in Alberta’s new competitive market under the AGLC. British Columbia and Quebec run single government sites, so there’s no list to rank there.

We don’t list offshore or “Curacao-licensed” casinos. They accept Canadians, but they answer to a foreign regulator, so if a withdrawal stalls or a bonus term turns out to be a trap, there’s no Canadian body to take it up with. Leaving them out makes our lists shorter than the padded ones. We think that’s the point.

What we actually track

Every operator gets a profile built from primary sources, not marketing copy: its standing in the iGaming Ontario and AGLC registries, the casino.guru Safety Index, AskGamblers, Trustpilot and app-store ratings, the published payout time for each banking method, the real welcome-bonus terms in dollars, and any AGCO enforcement action on the operating company. Money figures are in CAD. We refresh the data on a regular cycle and pick up the pace around big events like the Alberta launch.

How we make money

We earn a commission when a reader signs up with an operator through one of our links. That funding never touches the scores or the order of a list, and a casino can’t pay to soften a review. The full breakdown is on the affiliate disclosure page, and the scoring method is laid out in how we rate.

What we are not

We are not a casino. You can’t bet, deposit, or open an account here. Casino content is for adults of legal gambling age (19+ in Ontario, 18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec). Gambling carries risk; if it stops being fun, ConnexOntario is free and confidential at 1-866-531-2600, and Ontario players can self-exclude across every licensed operator at once through iGaming Ontario’s BetGuard.
