Online Casino Deposit Limits in Canada
Ontario and Alberta casinos must provide deposit, loss and time limits. The amount is chosen by the player. A request to increase or remove an existing limit waits at least 24 hours.
UpdatedDeposit, Loss and Time Limits Are Different
Setting one control does not automatically set the other two.
Ontario and Alberta Use the Same Core Periods
Both markets require 24-hour, 7-day and one-month choices. Alberta also sets minimum reminder frequencies.
| Market | Required controls | Required periods | Relax or remove | Reminders |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Ontario 19+ | Deposit, Loss, Time | 24 hours, 7 days, One month | At least 24 hours | No additional frequency in this comparison |
Alberta 18+ | Deposit, Loss, Time | 24 hours, 7 days, One month | At least 24 hours | Limit-setting reminders at least quarterly; Financial-activity review reminders at least monthly |
The Lowest Active Period Applies
A longer-period allowance does not override a tighter shorter-period limit.
A deposit limit is not a market-wide account block
It controls deposits into one account. For a break across covered regulated casino accounts, use the applicable centralized self-exclusion program. If gambling is causing harm now, contact a provincial support service instead of waiting for a limit change.
What This Comparison Does Not Turn Into a Number
Account-specific and unpublished values remain separate from the provincial rule.
